PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device wherein a combination deviation between substrates is reduced, a curvature and a recess of substrates which constitutes a liquid crystal cell is reduced and an accurate and uniform cell gap can be formed. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the liquid crystal display device is provided with a stage for irradiating the sealant with light from the other substrate side and then a stage for irradiating the sealant with light from the one substrate side via the stage, when one substrate of a pair of substrates disposed via a photosetting sealant is placed on a stage having light transmissivity to be stuck to the other substrate.
