PURPOSE:To provide the title molding material which has an excellent similarity to wooden material such as tone quality, surface hardness, thermal conductivity, lightweightness, etc. and gives lacquered moldings such as dinnerware, domestic articles, etc., containing woodmeal of zelkova. CONSTITUTION:The bark of zelkova is crushed into a powder having a particle size passing through an 80-mesh sieve, thus obtaining woodmeal (B) of zelkova. A phenolic resin (A) obtd. from a phenol and formaldehyde is mixed with 30-70wt% component B and optionally 5-15pts.wt. (per 100pts.wt. component A) curing agent (e.g., hexamine), an inorg. filler, a parting agent, a colorant, etc. The mixture is kneaded, crushed and optionally granulated.
