<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an electric power source for vehicle from being damaged by overcharge and over-discharge, and to accurately grasp a charged condition of the electric power source for vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: A battery ECU 11 inside the electric power source for the vehicle 1 calculates an SOC, based on a measured OCV. The battery ECU 11 turns off an SMR 9 based on the calculated SOC, when a 42V line electric power source 15 is determined to be under an overcharge condition or an over- discharge condition.
