<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus using a plurality of developing devices, capable of realizing various kinds of image formation, further made compact and inexpensive and capable of outputting a high-quality image at high speed. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has a 1st image forming means Sa equipped with a 1st image carrier 1a, and a 1st moving body 4a on which a plurality of developing devices 41, 42 and 43 are mounted and which selectively moves one of the devices 41, 42 and 43 to the developing part of the 1st image carrier 1a, and a 2nd image forming means Sb equipped with a 2nd image carrier 1b, and a 2nd moving body 4b on which a plurality of developing devices 44, 45 and 46 are mounted and which selectively moves one of the devices 44, 45 and 46 to the developing part of the 2nd image carrier 1b, and developer images formed by the 1st and the 2nd means Sa and Sb and having different characteristic are superposed and transferred on a transfer medium 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
