PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch device capable of increasing the resistivity of disturbance and thereby operating stably and a control method thereof. SOLUTION: Photo detectors 11, 12 are formed on the end faces of focusing lenses 113, 115 on the exit path sides of the light. The photo detectors 11, 12 are provided with 4-split type light receiving elements a-d which have a space arranged in the center to surround the passage of the light, and moreover, to block off the peripheral part of parallel beams. Then, an optical axis misalignment detecting part 15 detects the positions of the parallel beams from the output signals of the light receiving elements a-d, and a mirror control part 16 performs feedback control of angular adjustments of reflection mirrors 107, 108 and 110, 111.
