PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an optical system by which the shakes of images in a low frequency band and a high frequency band are excellently compensated and optical equipment having it. SOLUTION: The optical system has several lens groups to correct the shakes of the images in several mutually different frequency bands, and several lens groups are moved so as to have a component in a direction perpendicular to an optical axis. Also, the shakes of the images are compensated by the synthesis of image displacement by several lens groups moved so as to have the component in the direction perpendicular to the optical axis. Also, the optical system has a lens group to compensate the shakes of the images in the low frequency band and a lens group to compensate the shakes of the images in the high frequency band out of the shakes of the images in several frequency bands.
