PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that safety is not secured in the case of heater run-away to be assumed when temperature control is made impossible in a fixing device where a rise time is shortened. SOLUTION: A driving means for supplying power to a heat source includes: a condenser 17 for rapidly performing charging/discharging; and a charger 18 for receiving power from a commercial power source 16, and charging the condenser 17. The heat source includes: at least a first heater 3a to be driven in the case of a normal operation; and a second heater 3b whose output is larger than that of the first heater 3a and which is driven only in the case of a large rise time or a temperature lowering time. The fixing device includes: a relay 4 for changing-over a contact point when potential is reduced in the storing device 17; and a circuit for performing changeover from energizing to the second heater 3b to energizing to the first heater 3a by the operation of the relay 4.
