PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of accurately detecting the delivery state of photosensitive material from an image recording means to a developing means. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 10 is provided with a delivery part 50 extending to the upper part of the developing tank 30 of a processor 14 on a downstream side in the carrying direction of the final pair of rollers 52 of a printer 12, and a detection sensor 60 is disposed in the delivery part 50, whereby jamming and the overlapping of photographic paper A caused between the final pair of rollers 52 and a top pair of rollers 44A whose carrying speed is different each other are accurately detected. Since the delivery part 50 is shielded from the processor 14 by a shutter 68 at the image non-forming time, the gas quantity of developer flowing into a space 64 is restrained, and the faulty actuation of the sensor 60 is prevented.
