PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device and a method for manufacturing the same, in which a substrate is cut into unit cells in an easier way by carrying out scribing and breaking processes in one step. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device and the method for manufacturing the same comprises a substrate, a closed UV hardening main sealant formed on the substrate, a UV hardening dummy sealant formed in a region between the UV hardening main sealant and an edge of the substrate and a UV shielding part formed in a portion where the UV hardening dummy sealant is overlapped with a cell cutting line. The substrate is easily cut into unit cells since the sealant at the part where the UV shielding part is formed is not hardened when UV irradiation is performed, by forming the UV shielding part at the lower part of the sealant at the part overlapped with the cell cutting line in the UV hardening dummy sealant.
