PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal continuously variable transmission capable of simplifying the shape of a trunnion, reducing the working cost, and preventing a roller of a thrust bearing from coming off out of the trunnion. SOLUTION: In the toroidal continuously variable transmission arranging a thrust needle bearing 96 composed of a roller 96b and a holder 96a between a power roller outer race 94 and a power roller storage part 96 of the trunnion 17a, projection parts 96d and 96d projecting toward the direction of a power roller revolving axis 15a are provided in the holder 96a of the thrust needle bearing 96, and the projection parts 96d and 96d are engaged with the race member of the thrust needle bearing 96 so as to regulate the sliding movement amount of the holder 96a for the trunnion 17a to a setting movement amount.
