PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system by which a target name is input simply. SOLUTION: The navigation system is provided with an input means used to input the target name on a character input screen, a storage means used to store registration point data, and a retrieval means used to retrieve the target name in the registration point data including input data. Whenever one character is input, the number of remaining lists of the retrieved target name is displayed on the character input screen, and a character to be input next is displayed to be recognizable on the character input screen.
