Invention relates to the electric locomotive building. Traction drive of locomotive contains mounted on the bogie frame traction electric motor with hollow shaft of armature, inside which the torsion transmitting drive shaft is located which is connected with the help of toothed couplings with hollow shaft of electric motor and with power reducer, which is rested by one part of the housing on the axle of the wheel pair, and by another part û on the bogie frame through the suspension. Said coupling has barrel-shaped profile of the tooth. The torsion transmitting shaft is mounted with possibility of axial and radial displacement relative to power reducer. Invention allows to simplify the design of drive with simultaneous increase of its hardness.
