PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for finding out one by one a daughter specimen container to which a specimen has been urgently dispensed, in a specimen pre- processing system. SOLUTION: A regular area 57 for placing therein a plurality of regular daughter specimen racks 56 used in a regular dispensation mode is provided on the near side of a dispensing table while an urgency area 76 for placing therein an urgency daughter specimen rack 77 used in an urgent dispensation mode is provided on the far side of the dispensing table. The specimen racks 56 holds a plurality of regular daughter specimen containers 60 while the specimen rack 77 holds a plurality of urgent daughter specimen containers 79. A specimen is dispensed from a regular parent specimen container into the specimen containers 60 in the regular dispensation mode while the specimen is dispensed from the regular parent specimen container into the specimen containers 79 in the urgent dispensation mode.
