PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening and closing apparatus for an original press- contact plate which facilitates the working of a support arm and secure its strength, and also makes it easy to work a lift arm by devising the structure of a lift cam attached to the lift arm. SOLUTION: The apparatus is equipped with a fitting member (5), the support arm (7), the lift arm (11), a compression coil spring (16), and a spring receiver (14) which are fitted on the side of an apparatus main body (1). The lift cam (20) is provided at the front end part of the lift arm (11). This lift can has a projection part (20a) which moves into between both side plates (7b) and (7b) on the front end side of the support arm (7) from below the support shaft (9) when the lift arm (11) reverses on the support shaft (9) to press the spring receiver (14).
