PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outer diameter measuring instrument small in size and having good measuring accuracy. SOLUTION: The outer diameter measuring instrument is equipped with a measuring arm 2 provided with a contact point 10 to be brought into contact with an object 1 to be measured of a columnar body having a circular cross section, a measuring arm 3 provided with contact points 11 and 12 to be brought into contact with the object 1 to be measured so as to leave a distance between both contact points, a movable connection part 4 for connecting the measuring arms 2 and 3 in a developable manner, an angle measuring part 28 for measuring the angle formed by the measuring arms 2 and 3 and operational processing parts 31 and 32 for performing operational processing on the basis of the measuring signal of the angle measuring part 28.
