PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily preparing a cBN based film which is firmly bonded with a base material without using a binder, nor using poisonous gas as raw materials, and to prepare a cBN based film. SOLUTION: In the method for producing the cubic boron nitride-containing film, 100 to 50 pts.mass cubic boron nitride powder having a mean particle diameter of≤10μm and 0 to 50 pts.mass diamond powder or boron carbide powder having a mean particle diameter of≤10μm are used, and thermal spraying by electromagnetic acceleration plasma is intermittently performed.
