PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent color change-suppressing agent having an effect of suppressing the color change by a small amount against nitrogen oxide gas while maintaining heat resistance and processing stability capable of coping with a high temperature for a high speed molding, a high temperature molding for an alloy such as an engineering plastic, etc. SOLUTION: This color change-suppressing agent is tetrakis(2,4-tertiary butyl-5-methylphenyl)-4,4'-biphenylene phosphonite, not substantially containing a chlroline compound derived from its production, and a composition consisting mainly of the compound is also provided.
