PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly handleable flaky perfumery base composition containing a highly biodegradable amido-functional long-chain quaternary ammonium salt in high concentrations. SOLUTION: The perfumery base composition essentially comprise 30-70 mass% of the amido-functional quaternary ammonium salt of general formula (I) (wherein, R<SB>1</SB>is at least a 13-25C alkyl or alkenyl, being at least of straight- chain or branched-chain type; R<SB>2</SB>is a 1-5C alkylene, being at least of straight- chain or branched-chain type; R<SB>3</SB>and R<SB>4</SB>are each at least a 1-3C alkyl or hydroxyalkyl; and X<SP>-</SP>is an anion), 15-69 mass% of a 14-24C aliphatic monohydric alcohol, and≤15 mass% of a 1-3C aliphatic monohydric alcohol.
