<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retaining member for a catalytic converter, capable of maintaining more excellent catalytic carrier retaining performance and exhaust gas seal performance for a long time even under a high-temperature condition. <P>SOLUTION: This retaining member for the catalytic converter is composed of the catalytic carrier, a casing for storing the catalytic carrier, and a retainer which is mounted on the catalytic carrier and provided between the catalytic carrier and the casing.
