PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screening method of materials which can change the coupling property of sphingosine-1 phosphate and acceptor thereof. SOLUTION: This method comprises (1) a process in which the amount of coupling of the sphingosine-1 phosphate and the protein is measured when sphingosine-1 phosphate derivative is brought into contact with the protein having an amino acid sequence represented by the sequence number 1 (1a), and when sphingosine-1 phosphate derivative and a substance to be measured is brought into contact with the protein (1b), (2) a process in which an ability of the substance to change the coupling property of the sphingosine-1 phosphate derivative and the protein is evaluated by the difference obtained by comparing the measured values obtained from (1a) and (1b) of the process (1), and (3) a process in which a compound having an ability to change the coupling property of sphingosine-1 phosphate derivative and the protein is selected according to the evaluation result obtained by the process (2).
