PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface temperature measuring device and a method of a sheet steel for measuring the surface temperature of the sheet steel in the state where a contact plate is contacted or slid on the surface of the sheet steel. SOLUTION: A blackbody paint face is formed on the back of the contact plate, and noncontact measurement of a radiation temperature of the blackbody paint face is performed from the opposite direction to the blackbody paint face, to thereby perform contact measurement of the surface temperature of the sheet steel.
