PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminating apparatus capable of making the presence of a pointing part itself conspicuous in the illuminating apparatus for illuminating a pointer, a display plate, and a display member mounted to a meter for a vehicle such as an automobile. SOLUTION: By providing the pointer 4 rotated on its axis by the rotating shaft 2 of a driving device 3, a light source 6 for making the pointer 4 emit light of a predetermined color, and a control means 16 for making the light source 6 to operate to turn on a light so that the pointer 4 flashes on and off according to an input signal for making the pointer 4 emit light. By flashing the pointer 41 on and off at all times, it is possible to make the presence of the pointer 41 itself conspicuous to a driver. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
