PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote operational apparatus for diagnosing the inside of a tank, which eliminates the need for a worker entering a manhole thereby preventing the worker from being endangered by toxic gas or the like, eliminates the need to construct steps inside the tank, and can carry out not only a visual observation using a camera but also a test so as to contact with a section to be tested. SOLUTION: The remote operational apparatus for diagnosing the inside of the tank includes a main pole being installed on a leg having an operation panel at one edge, and having an arm driving mechanism, an expansive arm being mounted on the arm driving mechanism, a lighting device, and a camera at the other edge. The expansive arm has a detecting/sampling section capable of being replaced at one edge and an arm expanding means at the other edge, and can be rotated about an installation fulcrum from a state approximately parallel to the main pole to a state approximately normal to the main pole by the arm driving mechanism. The arm driving mechanism is actuated by operating the operation panel thereby enabling to expand and contract the expansive arm, the detection and sampling can be carried out by operating the operation panel, and furthermore, images are observed by using the camera.
