PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a swash plate type axial piston pump motor that ensures low noise, a small size, a light weight and a large discharge, and suppresses pressure fluctuation. SOLUTION: The swash plate type axial piston pump motor comprises cylinder groups 1 and 2 comprising a plurality of piston cylinders juxtaposed in a ring, and swash plates 3 and 4 tilted with respect to reciprocation directions of pistons in the cylinder groups 1 and 2 and brought in sliding contact with a tip of each piston. The plurality of swash plates 3 and 4 are formed on a fixed swash plate block 31, in different tilt directions, and cylinder chambers 7a to 7i and 8a to 8i of the plurality of cylinder groups 1 and 2 are formed in a cylinder block 6 rotatable on a rotary shaft 5, in correspondence with the respective swash plates 3 and 4.
