PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform an inspection of a cam gear timing by one-man operation when cam gear is replaced in a state of mounting an engine to a vehicle. SOLUTION: In the engine provided at its rear part a gear train which drives a cam, a cam gear chamber 3 is provided, at a part projecting from a rear edge of a cylinder head 11 and a cylinder block 10 to a side, with an ignition window 20 for inspecting timing of the cam gear 7 from a forward part of the engine.
