PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amorphous hard carbon film which has excellent sliding properties to a high Si-containing aluminum alloy which has excellent wear resistance but easy to wear opponent members, and to provide a sliding member. SOLUTION: The amorphous hard carbon film essentially consists of C and H. The content of H is 30 to 50 at.%. In the remaining composition other than H, the content of C is≥90 at.%, the content of Si is <5 at.%, and silicon carbide is contained. Its friction coefficient is stabilized when 0.5 to 2 at.% oxygen is further added thereto. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
