The spark gap has preferably several series sub-spark gaps, especially those without the first response gap being connected to a capacitor. The second and each further sub-gap are connected via the capacitor to a common reference potential, especially earth. A bypass in parallel with the single or multiple spark gap has a series circuit of an auxiliary spark gap with response voltage lower than the single or multiple spark gap and a varistor(s). The spark gap has preferably several sub-spark gaps in series, especially those without the first response gap being connected to a capacitor (6), whereby the second and each further sib-gap are connected via the capacitor to a common reference potential, especially earth. A bypass (7) connected in parallel with the single or multiple spark gap consists of a series circuit of an auxiliary spark gap (8) with a response voltage lower than that of the single or multiple spark gap and at least one varistor (9). |
