PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film for a release film which makes an improvement in disadvantages caused by the release film, such as blocking, a fault of carrying properties, repellence of slurry on the occasion of applying the slurry, occurrence of a pinhole and a break of a green sheet on the occasion of peeling the green sheet. SOLUTION: The maximum projection height (Rmax (A)) of one surface (surface A) of the polyester film for the release film is 200 nm or less and the central surface average roughness (SRa (A)) of the surface A is 10 nm or less.
