PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a studying desk with an illuminator in which the front part of the top plate which is used most frequently is effectively illuminated, and it is not dazzling for a sitting person in spite of illuminating the large range of a top plate with nearly equal illumination, and the illumination can be adjusted. SOLUTION: In the studying desk with the illuminator, a desk top shelf 2 provided with right and left side plates 4, a back plate and a shelf plate 6, is provided at the rear part of the top plate 1, and the illuminator 3 is fitted to the desk top shelf. The illuminator comprises a supporting arm 12 having a base part fixed to the back face of the back plate of the desk top shelf and extending forward from an upper side and a lighting fixture provided at the tip part of the supporting arm, and the height of the lighting fixture to the top plate is set in the range of 600 to 1000 mm.
