A thermal cycler is provided with a number of containing members <HIL><PDAT>10 </BOLD><PDAT>having a shape in conformity with a shape of micro tubes <HIL><PDAT>6</BOLD><PDAT>, nozzles <HIL><PDAT>15 </BOLD><PDAT>for jetting coolant to the respective containing members <HIL><PDAT>10</BOLD><PDAT>, a blower <HIL><PDAT>5 </BOLD><PDAT>for supplying the coolant to the nozzles <HIL><PDAT>15</BOLD><PDAT>, heaters <HIL><PDAT>12 </BOLD><PDAT>wound around the respective containing members <HIL><PDAT>10</BOLD><PDAT>, thermocouples <HIL><PDAT>13 </BOLD><PDAT>provided to be brought into contact with the respective containing members <HIL><PDAT>10 </BOLD><PDAT>and a control apparatus <HIL><PDAT>14 </BOLD><PDAT>for generating signals of the heaters <HIL><PDAT>12 </BOLD><PDAT>based on signals from the thermocouples <HIL><PDAT>13 </BOLD><PDAT>and outputting the generated signals. By carrying out independent temperature control for the respective micro tubes <HIL><PDAT>6 </BOLD><PDAT>by the control apparatus <HIL><PDAT>14</BOLD><PDAT>, accuracy of temperature control of the respective micro tubes <HIL><PDAT>6 </BOLD><PDAT>is promoted and the processing efficiency is promoted.</PTEXT>
