PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building material panel which is light in weight, easy of handling, and recyclable and can be disposed of without problems and a method for producing the panel. SOLUTION: In the building material panel, matrix polyester fibers and heat-fusible fibers of core-sheath type composite fibers comprising polyester fibers are mixed in a mass ratio of 80-20/20-80. The matrix fibers and the heat- fusible fibers are fusion-bonded and integrated by the melting or softening of the shell component of the heat-fusible fibers. A surface layer material of polyester fibers is laminated on at least one side of a base material 50-1,000 kg/m<SP>3</SP>in density. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
