PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly and efficiently heat large materials as well, to facilitate control of a cooling rate after welding and to make work efficient, the time for working shorter and the burden of operators less by easily and surely performing laying and recovering of pallets. SOLUTION: The device for preheating a welding object X is provided with a base 1 which is installed with the welding object X, a cover 3 which is placed on the base 1 to form a housing section 2 for housing the welding object X on an inner side, and a heater 4 which heats the welding object X in the housing section 2.
