<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make unnoted an image displacement caused by an external force applied to an image output. <P>SOLUTION: In an imaging apparatus having a numerically converting means to n data for inputting a multi-value image and converting the image to n pieces of data, and an image output means for outputting image data converted to n pieces of data by the numerically converting means to n data to a recording medium, the numerically converting means to n data is enabled to input the multi-value image and convert the image to the n pieces of data by a plurality of switchable methods. Each of the methods has a different pseudo resolution for image outputs of the numerically converting means to n data or a different concentrating amount of dots to be outputted. By detecting the external force applied to the image output means of the imaging apparatus, or at a timing when the external force is preliminarily expected to be applied, the plurality of switchable methods of the numerically converting means to n data are sequentially switched to sequentially decrease an apparent resolution.
