SIDE WEIR CERAMIC PLATE FOR TWIN-ROLL TYPE THIN SHEET CONTINUOUS CASTING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side weir ceramic plate for twin-roll type thin sheet continuous casting which satisfies every properties of high corrosion resistance, high wear resistance, high heat-shock resistance, and low thermal conductivity. SOLUTION: The side weir ceramic plate for twin-roll type thin sheet continuous casting is composed of 10-90 vol.% REAG-phase, 5-50 vol.% SiAlON-phase, 5-50 vol.% BN-phase, and 0-20 vol.% amorphous-phase. The REAG-phase is composed of a rare earth-aluminum garnet phase of at least one selected among YAG-phase, ErAG-phase, YbAG-phase, and DyAG-phase. Further, the SiAlON- phase has the peculiarity composed of 0.05-1.9 range of Z in a chemical formula, Si6-ZAlZOZN8-Z and further, desirably,≥80% relative density. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
