PURPOSE:To prevent development of crater to be difficult to remove at end part of treatment by impressing high density heating energy while continuously shifting on surface of a metal base material and completing the treatment at position of projecting part beforehand forming on the above surface. CONSTITUTION:TIG arc 3 is shifted over the range 4 to be treated on the surface of the metal base material 1 of aluminum alloy casting, etc., from one end 4A to the other end 4B while impressing from a torch 2 for TIG arc as the high density heating energy. By this method, the surface layer is made to remelt 8 and successively rapidly cooled and solidified to reform the surface layer by forming resolidified layer 9. Then, on the surface of the metal base material 1 at the part to be end position of the treating at the other end 4B, the projecting part 7 is beforehand formed to trapezoid. By completing the above treatment on the projecting part 7, depth of the crater 6 formed at here becomes almost the same level as the original level 1B of the metal base material 1. After that, by cutting off the surface of the resolidified layer 9 together with the above projecting part 7, the crater 6 also is easily removed and the flat finishing plane 1A is obtd. |
