<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for realizing a printer superior in terms of portability/cost/general-purpose usage. <P>SOLUTION: The printer comprises a printing unit 100 and a control server 200 for the printing unit 100. The printing unit 100 is set on a printing paper 300 via wheels 110a and 110b. The printing unit 100 sets an advancement direction by steering the wheel 110a and drives by power. The control server 200 makes the printing unit output pixels while applying a movement instruction, whereby the printer having a high general-purpose usage without limits on a size of printable papers is realized. Moreover, since the printer can be designed regardless of a size of printing papers to be used, the printer can be realized in a small size and with the superior portability, or the printer of low manufacturing costs can be realized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
