POLYNUCLEOTIDE ENCODING Fas-MEDIATED APOPTOSIS-RELATING PROTEIN AND RIBOZYME INHIBITING ITS EXPRESSION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new gene relating to a Fas-mediated apoptosis and a ribozyme inhibiting its expression.

SOLUTION: A gene functioning in the Fas protein-mediated apoptosis pathway is isolated by using a simple system employing a ribozyme library binding to an RNA helicase having a randomized substrate-binding arm and which is developed by the inventor. As a result, pro-apoptotic genes and fragment DNAs of genes which features are conventionally unknown are successfully isolated in plenty. A full length cDNA of the gene relating to the Fas-mediated apoptosis is easily obtained by using the DNA fragment as a probe.
