<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which can save a developer while suppressing an image degradation. <P>SOLUTION: When a toner save mode is instructed (S3: YES) and at the same time, a high resolution is instructed (S8: YES), a quantity of light of one of two laser diodes set in a scanner unit is reduced half (S9). Although lines corresponding to the laser diode having the quantity of light reduced half become pale, the lines are prevented from completely disappearing. Therefore, the developer can be saved while the image degradation is suppressed. When the toner save mode is instructed (S3: YES) and the high resolution is not instructed (S8: NO), since the one laser diode is prohibited from driving, the developer can be saved considerably well (S10). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
