PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently separating and recovering an oils-and-fats component such as scum or froth from wastewater containing that component, and a method for effectively reutilizing the recovered coils-and- fats component. SOLUTION: An organic solvent is added to wastewater containing the oils- and-fats component to dissolve the component such as scum or froth and the component is further separated and recovered from the organic solvent such as hexane or the like in which the component is dissolved to efficiently separate the component from wastewater. The oils-and-fats component thus separated and recovered can be reutilized as fuel, fertilizer or the like. Besides, the organic solvent from which the oil-and-fats component is separated and recovered is recycled to be reutilized. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
