PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving control device for a circular saw in a traveling circular sawing machine in which a workpiece is effectively cut by automatically controlling a travel-moving of the circular saw according to a length of the workpiece. SOLUTION: A means 19 for holding down the workpiece W is composed of many pressing pieces 30 to 37 divided in a direction of a slit 3 for traveling. Operation conditions of the pressing pieces are detected with detection switches 40 to 47, and a length of the workpiece W is measured. The circular saw 6 is moved with a forward and reverse travel driving means 11, and a moving length of the circular saw 6 is measured with the number of its revolutions. Next, the travel driving means 11 is rotatively controlled forward and backward by arithmetically comparing the length of the workpiece with the moving length of the circular saw.
