METHOD FOR CONTINUOUSLY CASTING MOLTEN METAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the variations of surface characteristics and internal quality of a cast slab caused by stream induced in molten metal with an AC magnetic field and the interference with spouting flow from an immersion nozzle when a continuous casting is performed while giving the AC magnetic field to the molten metal. SOLUTION: In a method for performing the continuous casting while giving the AC magnetic field to the molten metal in a mold by supplying the molten metal into the mold from the immersion nozzle, the immersion nozzle is continuously provided with two hole parts for discharging the molten metal from the mutually faced mold wall surface directions to the perpendicular downward direction and a slit part for discharging the molten metal from the perpendicular downward direction just below the nozzle to the mutually faced mold wall surface directions and the area ratio of the slit part and these two-hole parts and a casting condition are made to satisfy a specific relation.
