PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side guard for a wheelchair which is opened by simple operation. SOLUTION: The side guard for the wheelchair is provided between a seat portion 4 and an armrest 20A located above the seat portion. The armrest is equipped with a winder 20 for automatically winding a main body 22 of the side guard, and a lateral portion of the seat portion 4 is equipped with a hook 27 for removable locking the lower end of the main body 22 of the side guard drawn from the winder 20. The winder 20 can rewind the main body 22 of the side guard and can turn it to the side of a seat back 5 and well. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
