PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support appliance in which the foot and the ankle are surely held by mounting an external simplified artificial joint composed of a fixing part, and a hinge on a main body of a supporter and allowing the external simplified artificial joint to swing back and forth with the hinge. SOLUTION: The support appliance is composed of the external simplified artificial joint composed of the fixing part for protecting the ankle, the part separated to right and left parts and linked in the center by stretchable fibers to be mounted on the foot and the hinge for connecting the fixing part and allowing them to swing, the flexible main body of the supporter to be mounted over the ankle and the foot, and a band for mounting the external simplified artificial joint and the main body of the supporter on the leg.
