PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide culture soil sufficiently holding water and fertilizer necessary for raising seedlings, where breakage is inhibited as much as possible when mechanically setting the seedlings. SOLUTION: The culture soil for mechanical setting has a cation exchange capacity of≥50 meq/100 g based on 100 g culture soil, and contains 0.01-5 g of water-absorbing resin having water absorbing power≥30 wt.times based on distilled water, and 0.01-10 g of polymer coagulant respectively based on 1L culture soil.
