PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for utilizing regenerated molding sand which attains cost reduction and environment protection by re-utilizing the sand removed by shot-blasting. SOLUTION: In the method for regenerating the molding sand after shaking out a casting from a mold, the sand S removed from the casting A by the shot-blasting 1 is introduced into a magnetic separator 4 and the sand having the magnetic component removed by this magnetic separator 4 is recovered into a sand recovering part 5 and utilized as the regenerated sand S1 while the magnetic component is recovered into a magnetic component recovering part 6. To the above regenerating process, a fine powder removing process for removing the fine powder from the regenerated sand S1 is added. The above regenerated sand S1 and green sand are mixed at a prescribed ratio and the resultant mixture is utilized as the sand for forming the mold. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
