PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus in which a required software is downloaded from a data base and a downloaded file can be stored in a storage means. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprising a means 18 for storing a file, and a communication processing means 17 for transmitting/receiving information to/from an external data base 3 is further provided with a means 11 for downloading a software for the imaging apparatus from the data base 3 and updating the software periodically.
