PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a robot, its visual field control device and controlling method capable of properly controlling the visual field of a camera mounted on the robot and offering necessary communication information while the privacy is protected. SOLUTION: The robot is fitted with the camera photographing images and equipped with a visual function capable of changing the direction of the line of sight, whereby the angle of the line of sight formed by the direction of the line of camera sight to a specified reference direction, for example the horizontal direction, is sensed for controlling the visual filed of the robot, and when the obtained angle of the line of sight is not less than a certain angle, the image given by the camera is subjected to an image processing such as dropping the resolution.
