PURPOSE:To obtain a nonlinear resistor characterized by less dispersion and the improved characteristic of discharge breakdown strength by using at least part of secondary components as a peroxide, thereby supplying oxygen even from the inside of a blank body in a burning step. CONSTITUTION:Zinc oxide is used as a main component. As secondary componets, cobalt oxide, bismuth oxide, antimony oxide, manganese dioxide. chromium oxide, nickel oxide, silicon dioxide, aluminum oxide and the like are mixed together with water and an organic binder. Granulation is performed from the mixture. Granulated powder is molded. The added water and organic binder are burned and removed. The material to be burned is preliminarily burned. Then, a high resistance material is applied on the side surface, and burning is performed. The raw material of peroxide which is uniformly dispersed in the zinc oxide in mixing is decomposed into an oxide and oxygen in the burning step. The oxygen is sufficiently supplied in the sintered blank body, and oxidizing atmosphere is obtained. In this way, a nonlinear resistor characterized by less dispersion and the improved characteristic of discharge breakdown strength is obtained. |
