PURPOSE: To accurately adjust a cutting device for removing rubber and to form a smooth surface on the cut part of the tire by connecting a calculation device to a position adjusting means and controlling the position adjusting means for positioning the cutting device at the proper position of the tire in each of the rotation increment quantities of the periphery of the tire in order to remove a desired amt. of a material from each of unit rotation incremental distances. CONSTITUTION: A computer 20 combines the 'deflection' values in the radius unit rotation incremental distances and these selected grinding depths in order to determine where the carriage holding a grinding wheel 32 must be placed in order to grind the unit rotation incremental distances at selected depths. The computer issues a command to the stepping motors 28, 30 anchored on an apparatus 12 on the basis of this data to position grinding wheels 32, 34 at a desired grinding position with respect to the unit rotation incremental distance of the tire tread passing by the grinding wheels 32, 34. |
