PLANE LIGHT EMITTING DEVICE

PURPOSE: A plane light emitting device is provided to allow for improved uniformity of light emission by preventing the light emitting plane from being affected by the distance to the lamp. CONSTITUTION: A plane light emitting device comprises lamps(4,4a) arranged at ends of a transparent plate(1), wherein the transparent plate has a plurality of V-shaped grooves formed at the rear surface of the transparent plate; and a reflecting layer(3). The plane light emitting device permits the light of the lamp incident from the cross section of the transparent plate to exit from the surface of the transparent plate. The angle formed by the openings of V-shaped grooves of the transparent plate and an inclined surface of the lamp gradually decreases as it goes toward the lamp. The transparent plate is curved in such a manner that the reflecting layer is recessed.
